Fierro: International Cuisine with a Mediterranean Influence

Updated: Jun 17, 2023

Fierro is a fusion restaurant directed by two ambitious chefs. This understated restaurant won its first Michelin Star in 2021.

Located in the buzzing and multicultural neighbourhood of Ruzafa, where colourful tables spill out onto modernist streets, and the sound of laughter and celebration fills the air every evening. Through the black-accented doors, the interiors are cosy, with the soft lighting

and exposed brick creating an intimate atmosphere for the few tables dispersed around the small room.

The cuisine

More daring, more mature, more refined. The menu at Fierro results from 15 years of perfecting techniques and a passion for good food that brings their crowning Michelin star to mean more than the typical fine dining experience.

In Fierro, this devotion to raw materials is displayed in full with an open kitchen that allows the diners to watch as the chefs work their magic, turning local ingredients into creative gastronomic proposals.

The cuisine at Fierro combines typical Mediterranean dishes with international touches, offering the dishes a remarkably distinct, mature flavour. Leave your taste buds in the chefs’ expert hands as plate after plate of culinary ecstasy appears before you.

Chef German Carrizo and Chef Carito Lourenco

The restaurant is owned and operated by two Argentine chefs who combine the recipes and techniques of their childhoods with years of intense training and a dash of Mediterranean inspiration.

Chefs Lourenco and Carrizo travelled 11,000km from their homeland of Argentina to realize their dream of opening their restaurant on Spanish shores, and the feedback so far has been tremendous.

Disciples of Quique Dacosta

While both talented chefs had ample experience working with a Michelin star in Quique Dacosta’s Vuelve Carolina and El Poblet, chef Carrizo admits that winning a Michelin star for Fierro had a special flavour. In an interview after their sparkling new accolade was announced at the Michelin Guide’s 2021 Valencia Gala, almost five years after their doors opened for the first time, he described his work as ‘giving happiness to the guests’. Carrizo’s business partner and

co-head chef Lorenzo added that their only goal now is to keep going and growing.

The birth of Fierro

They had left Quique Dacosta's Valencian restaurants with the dream of inventing new dishes and diving deeper into the infinite world of gastronomic desire and technique. Soon after this decision, the creative duo longed for face-to-face interaction with the guests, the incomparable pleasure of seeing the diners' eyes light up with satisfaction.

And thus, Fierro was born—a setting fitting for culinary workshops, presentations, and demonstrations, but also where keen foodies can head for an unforgettable meal in stylish and intimate surroundings. Savour the aromas from the kitchen, enjoy the impeccable service, and relax in the friendly atmosphere.

The sommelier’s signature touch

Enhance your three-hour dining experience with a perfectly paired wine selection by Fierro’s resident sommelier, Giuseppe Valente. The Fierro team describes him as a travelling spirit brought in to offer guests an unforgettable experience and by guests as a key component of their evening. He has the expertise to make your palate sing and the friendly disposition to make you feel right at home.

Under his careful guidance, you’ll experience the perfection that comes from a beautifully crafted pairing. Each glass pulls out the nuances of the plates before you, highlighting the chefs' talent and the deep knowledge that Italian-born Valente brings.

The hipster neighbourhood of Ruzafa offers many opportunities for the discerning traveller. From browsing the countless varieties of tomatoes in the Market of Ruzafa to wandering the vibrant streets searching for the perfect vermouth or sophisticated club, you’re in the ideal location for that special Valencian experience.
